Safer dating in New York

Safety tips

  1. Act with cautionThere is no substitute for acting with caution when communicating with any stranger who wants to meet you.
  2. Keep identifying details to yourselfNever include your last name, e-mail address, home address, phone number, place of work, or any other identifying information in your internet profile or initial e-mail messages. Stop communicating with anyone who pressures you for personal or financial information or attempts in any way to trick you into revealing it.
  3. Meet in public, and get there on your ownIf you choose to have a face-to-face meeting with another member, always tell someone in your family or a friend where you are going and when you will return. Never agree to be picked up at your home. Always provide your own transportation to and from your date and meet in a public place with many people around.
  4. Never send moneyNever send money, gift cards, crypto, or financial information to anyone you meet through a dating service, whatever the story. Someone who asks for money is very likely running a scam. Stop replying and tell us.
  5. Video chat firstA short video call before you meet shows that the person matches their photos and makes the first meeting easier. Anyone who keeps avoiding a call is a reason to slow down.
  6. Trust your instinctsYou can end a conversation or leave a date at any time, for any reason, without explaining. Keep your phone charged and your belongings with you.

What we do

  • We check a government ID and a recent photo before anyone gets an intro.
  • The AI matchmaker never asks for your last name, home address, workplace, phone number, or anything financial, and asks you not to share them.
  • Your interview and profile stay private. Nothing is shown to other members before your batch opens.
  • We never sell your information or share it with anyone without your written consent.

If something goes wrong
